Vanessa has done many crafts throughout her career. She mainly specializes in dyeing and distressing fabric and other materials.
JOAN OF ARC - COSTUME CRAFTS PROJECT
In her costume crafts class, Vanessa made a Joan of Arc costume. She worked with a local artist named Lucas Woolen, who rendered the artwork for the breastplate. Vanessa digitized the pattern for the breastplate and armor so she could laser cut and engrave them. She made the wings using a file made by Lightning Cosplay for laser cutting and engraving on EVA foam. Vanessa knitted and foiled the chainmail and draped the skirt. The halo crown was soldered and welded with a semicircle of miniature swords.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL: DISTRESSING MARLEY'S COAT - AUTUMN 2023
Vanessa was in charge of distressing the Marley outfit for the Penn State University production of A Christmas Carol. She used a variety of paints and materials to distress the coat, chains and neck piece.
